We want your time at the University of South Wales to be enjoyable and successful whilst staying safe and secure. You may not personally come into contact with crime and reassuringly the majority of students don’t but by taking a few precautions, you can actively reduce the chances of opportunist behaviour.

We want to make sure you’re provided with everything you need to know, from tips on what you can do yourself to stay safe, to the services and support available to you when you need it, both on and off campus.

We know you will make great memories at USW – there is so much to do and fun to be had! Whether you are out in the day exploring with friends or heading to the Students’ Union for the night. Unfortunately, students are easy prey for petty criminals – often targeting personal belongings and student halls and houses. Just remember, this is a time to be more vigilant, not less.

We recommend making use of the information on our Emergency Contacts page. Save these numbers in your phone and know where you can go to find help. If you are affected by or witness a crime, please report it immediately to University Security or Police. We are here to help and make sure you have a safe time at USW!
