Freshers safety basics

  • Party safely during Freshers’ Week and beyond
  • Make sure you have contents insurance for your new home, so you’re covered should your belongings go astray.
  • Make yourself familiar with the area; pick up a map, bus/train time table, and carry the number of a reliable taxi firm.
  • Register your valuable possessions for free on, and mark your property with a UV pen.
  • Remember that alcohol can seriously affect your sense of awareness, leading you to take risks. Don’t overdo it during the Fresher’s celebrations.
  • Secure your bike with a D-lock. If you have a car, use a steering wheel lock and don’t leave valuables in your vehicle.
